Project Description
The design concept for this project commenced in mid 2017 to create 13 Rural/Residential lots ranging in area from 2,500m2 to 4,000m2. The site was rolling pastoral land, used for agriculture with the general topography gently sloping towards the north. The site is located at White Road, Hunua with additional access to Lockwood Road. Papakura township and its amenities (including train services) are only a 20 minute drive from this location.
The layout of ‘Frost Rise’ has been designed in a way that optimises the efficiency of the publicly owned and maintained road, and for any future developments. The naming of this road and the ‘Don Mackinnon Way’ represents the Frost family’s long history within the community of Hunua and their ongoing contribution still. A wide shared footpath has also been incorporated for both pedestrians and cyclists which connects the Subdivision to Lockwood Road and Hunua school.
Riparian planting has been arranged organically to fit in with its surrounding landscape, and has been eco-sourced from the Hunua Ecological District. 700m2 of pioneer species plants will create a canopy closure which is important for habitat and corridor creation for native animals.
TSC managed the project from conceptual drawings through to Resource Consent, Engineering Design, Contract Management, Service Installation, Surveying, Completion Certifications and ultimately the issue of Titles for all 13 lots.
